Citra Emulator

Citra is a Nintendo 3DS emulator. It is completely free, multi system and open source, created by a group of programmers called Citra Team. It may emulate sound entirely, something which RYUJINX can not do. Multiplayer through networked WiFi is encouraged, which lets you play multiplayer games with other people, though they must be utilizing Citra. You can't play multiplayer with individuals that are using a real Nintendo 3DS.

Installation of Citra works with Windows, MacOS, Linux, and Android, although the Android variant is in early access as of This Moment. The general consensus is that Citra setup is very simple, fast, and rather simple, with a lot of tutorials and guides offered for you. While picking Citra, you may choose between two versions, each of which have advantages and disadvantages to utilize. The more stable version is Citra Nightly, that's the much more stable version of Citra. The second version, called Citra Canary, includes new features, modifications, and upgrades that Nightly doesn't have. These attributes are occasionally experimental and may or may not end up in the Nightly variant, but they're often features that can not be used with better performance, or characteristics that cause the game to lag or operate improperly during gameplay.

You want Windows 7, 8, or 10 to perform either Citra variation on Windows. To play on MacOS, you will require version 10.13 High Sierra or higher. To perform on Linux, you will need a 64-bit modern version, and Windows 8 is required to run Citra on any and all Android devices. Officially, all hardware must be at least 64-bit to operate Citra's software. To play games, then you will want both a Nintendo 3DS along with a game cartridge. Citra includes a massive assortment of games that you can playwith, but you must have the game cartridge of each game you want to playwith. This will make gameplay very inconvenient.
